Republican Jason Villalba Wants Teachers to Diagnose Mental Health, Force Students to Undergo Psychological Screening
Dallas Republican State Representative Jason Villalba continues his Orwellian ways, after his bill to do away with conscientious and religious exemptions to vaccinate school children with HB 2006, he comes out with House Bill 985. This proposed bill gives teachers and other school officials the power to diagnose a student as having mental health issues and enacting a 30 day warning to the parents to seek psychological screenings within that time frame.
…the requirement that the parent or guardian, before the expiration of the 30-day period, to avoid suspension of the student under this section, take the student to the nearest local mental health authority or a physician specializing in psychiatry to receive a mental health screening and a certificate of medical examination for mental illness, as described by Section 533.03522(c), Health and Safety Code, that contains the examining physician’s opinion that the student is not a danger to self or others.
During the screenings, students will be placed in an alternative school type setting. To notify police departments of the opinionated determination, the lifelong mentally ill mark and the medications prescribed are a worrisome result for these kids. Total people control is not to far when lawmakers like this propose cattle-prodding measures to reign in the citizenry. To put this serious determination in the hands of public and charter school teachers is just loading thier minds with a tool for revenge to the students or parents who go against the grain of the doctrination.
